Chat¶

The chat lets you ask questions about your measurement data and anomalies. You can use it in a floating panel on any page, or on its own page.

Opening the chat¶

You can open the chat in three ways:

• Click the floating button in the bottom-right corner of the screen to open the chat panel.
• Select Surfmeter AI > New Chat in the sidebar to open the chat on a full page.
• In the search, select Ask the AI assistant to open the chat with your search text filled in.

The panel and the full page show the same conversation, so you can switch between them and continue where you left off.

Asking questions¶

Type your question and press Enter. A progress indicator appears while the assistant queries measurement data.

Some example prompts:

• "How was video quality last week?"
• "What was the average MOS for Netflix?"
• "Which measurements had excessive page load times?"
• "Which anomalies were raised in the past seven days?"
• "Explain the results of measurement ID 42"

The assistant is aware of your current filters and time range, so questions like "How was quality for these measurements?" will take the active context into account.

Chat history¶

Your conversations are saved, and only you can see them. Each conversation gets a title automatically.

To find an earlier conversation, select Surfmeter AI > Chat History in the sidebar, or click the history button in the chat panel. The list shows each conversation with its number of messages and when it was last updated. Click a conversation to continue it.

You can rename or delete a conversation from the history list. You can also rename the current conversation from the chat itself.

Starting a new chat¶

Select New Chat on the chat page, or click Clear chat in the chat panel. Clearing asks for confirmation and then starts a new, empty chat. The previous conversation stays in your chat history.
